COMMUTERS were hit by disruption on the London Road, Headington, yesterday due to ongoing roadworks.
There were further delays when a manhole collapsed further down the road, requiring emergency repairs and causing the closure of one lane.
Two sets of roadworks are currently taking place after the second stage of work to resurface the bus lane, replace damaged and broken kerbs and improve drainage started on January 5.
Work is currently being carried out on the north side of London Road at Wharton Road, where temporary traffic lights are in place.
The work has clashed with roadworks at The Plain roundabout in St Clement’s, and will overlap with next month’s redevelopment of Frideswide Square.
