  • Families are invited to Tyger, Tyger Saturday at Blackwell's Bookshop in Broad Street, where a free event will be held for young children inspired by William Blake's Tyger poem. Activites will start at 2pm with Tyger potato printing for under-sevens. At 3.30pm there will be a reading of The Tiger Who Came to Tea and at 4pm there will be a poetry workshop for the over-sevens. The event is free and no booking is required.
  • Blenheim Palace will be hosting a "Walk in Churchill's Footsteps" to mark the 50th anniversary of his death at 2pm. The walk will be led by a historian who will discuss Churchill's life at Blenheim and key events that helped shape the wartime Prime Minister's life. Tickets for access to the park cost £5, and the tour costs an additional £3. To book call 01993 810 530 or email operations@blenheimpalace.com

  • Fundraisers will be racing through the Oxford 10k Charity Fun Run at Horspath Athletics Track from 9am. One cause runners will be supporting is that of Kidlington resident Kelly Pope, who is suffering from terminal bowel cancer. They hope to raise funds for Kelly's Secret Bucket List so Mrs Pope can enjoy some happy memories with her family. Chips for runners will be provided by The Chequers in Headington and T-shirts will be given to all finishers.   • Season ticket fares on Oxford Bus Company routes are set to go up on some services today. Routes affected by the change include city zone buses, park and ride fares, Abingdon routes and South Oxfordshire zones among others.   • Wantage Town Council will hold a meeting of the planning and environmental committees from 7.30pm in Wantage Civic Hall. The public are welcome to attend.

  • Lord Mayor of Oxford Mohammed Abbasi will host a Holocaust Memorial Service at the Town Hall in St Aldates at noon, to mark the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust. All are welcome to attend.
