ENGINEERS will work through the night to repair a burst water main which has closed Stert Street in Abingdon.
Thames Water says it will reopen the road at 6am tomorrow, but close it again at 8pm to finish the job.
The leak has led to low water pressure for homes and businesses in the area.
Thames Water spokesman Stuart White said: “We’re sorry for the disruption. This emergency water pipe repair has to be done as the leak has led to low pressure for some customers.
“It’s a complex job as there are other utility pipes and cables very close to where we’re working, but we’re going to work through the night so we can reopen the road at 6am tomorrow morning.
“We’ll then go back tomorrow night to finish off.”
Oxford Bus Company has tweeted to say the X13, X3, 13 and 35 services are experiencing severe delays between 30-40 minutes due to the emergency roadworks in Stert Street.
