A FLOOD alert has been issued along the River Thames for the Abingdon area.
The alert, issued by the Environmeny Agency last night, covers areas along the river from Abingdon down to and including Little Wittenham.
Alerts remain in place for the River Thames, affecting Oxford including areas between Wolvercote, Radley and Jericho and the River Cherwell from Lower Heyford down to Oxford covering Thrupp and Hampton Poyle.
It said recent rainfall had caused river levels to rise, with flooding of low lying land and roads expected.
But properties are not expected to be flooded.
A further alert remains in force for the River Thames and tributaries from Buscot Wick down to Kings Lock, above Oxford, including Buscot, Kelmscott, Radcot, Chimney, Northmoor, Stanton Harcourt, Bablock Hythe and caravan park, Eynsham, Swinford and Yarnton.
