PERFORMERS in a new play at Oxford’s Old Fire Station are hoping things go with a big bang today when they take to the stage for Collider.
The play, which will be performed at 12.30pm today and next Saturday, combines the story of the large hadron collider (LHC) with puppets and burlesque.
Shaun McCarthy’s play, directed by Katie Read, sees puppets dispute the origins of life as the LHC begins to malfunction.
Actor Steve Hay, who plays Vivien Houghton, said: “We want to offer people the opportunity to do something different on a Saturday lunchtime and then after they can go shopping.”
The play at the George Street venue costs £3 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.
