Sir – Danny Dorling (Letters, December 25) is right when he says that there’s little to choose between the Conservatives and their Liberal Democrat partners when it comes to the General Election in Oxford West and Abingdon.
But he is quite wrong to propose that the response should be to vote for a minor party with no chance of winning this or any other seat. Not only is Labour the only alternative government to the Coalition, opinion polling carried out by Lord Ashcroft in June and September 2014 showed that Labour is a real contender for the Oxford West and Abingdon Parliamentary seat.
So the only way to send a real message to the Coalition in Oxford West and Abingdon is to vote for the only party with a chance of beating the Coalition parties, and forming the next Government. And that party is the Labour Party.
Sally Copley, Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Oxford West & Abingdon
