THE operators of a care home have been warned they still must make improvements after it failed to meet national standards for a sixth time.
St Katharine’s House in Wantage received a surprise visit from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in November.
A report published by the CQC yesterday said a warning notice had been issued relating to care and welfare of residents.
The visits followed up concerns identified at the 76-bedroom Ormond Road home, run by Gold Care Homes, in October 2013 when a first warning was issued.
Inspectors have since carried out six inspections at the care home in the last 18 months. They found changes had been made to bring the service up to the required standard, but there were still problems.

The report said the service was not always safe, effective, responsive to people and well-led.
It added: “There has not been a stable management team at the home during this time which has meant the improvements had not all been sustained or embedded in practice.”
Care home staff must now send inspectors a report detailing what action they will take to address concerns by January 30.
