A team of apprentices from the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy will compete against 80 others in a prestigious national competition.
Regional heats for the Brathay Apprentice Challenge to find the team of the year will see contenders visiting schools and employers to talk about the benefits of apprenticeships.
The 700 apprentices, in teams of nine, will also take part in a project to benefit the local community.
Banbury-based food producer Mondelez International is also fielding a team.
Finalists will be named in May and winners announced in July.
