MORE than 100 people turned out today at Oxford Railway Station to pay their respects to a “much loved” member of staff.
Steve Cross, 38, from Cowley, who worked on the barriers at the station for eight years, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning.
Rail staff, British transport police and passengers alike observed a minute silence at the station at 11am.
Mr Cross’ family including his two daughters, Sophie 11, and Amy, 8 crowded around tributes left in his memory by the barriers.
Duty station manager Kevin Knight said: “He was a top, top bloke. We will miss him so much, he was a really good friend. It won’t be the same at this station.”
