THE changes to the Oxford Junior Dictionary are a damning example of the changes in our children’s lives.
Words such as cauliflower and otter have been replaced with cut and paste and broadband.
It is yet another indication of how the next generation is spending too much time indoors, sheltered from nature and plugged into technology instead.
Outdoor play gives children a better understanding of the world around them, combats obesity and, most importantly, is fun. These changes should prompt parents to grab their boots and macs and teach their children about the great outdoors.
