A COUNCIL is giving away free nets to help residents protect their goods for recycling in strong winds.
It comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning of wind for Oxfordshire for today and tomorrow.
West Oxfordshire District Council has issued advice asking residents to ensure recycling is secured in boxes with lids or nets, and to place bins and boxes out as late as possible prior to collection and put them away as soon as possible afterwards. The Met Office warning, which was issued on Monday, is valid from 3pm today until 3pm tomorrow.

Winds of up to 60mph are expected across the county with gusts of 75mph possible over exposed hills and other areas.
A yellow warning for wind means people should be aware of disruption including debris being blown around, trees coming down and driving problems for high-sided vehicles.
Met Office chief forecaster Eddie Carroll said: “As well as the very strong winds, a band of squally rain is likely to sweep eastwards across many parts through the period.”
Nets for recycling boxes are available free at the council’s shop on Welch Way, Witney and from the Guildhall in Chipping Norton.
