How is the NHS? We live in the Prime Minister’s constituency. We’re of a certain age. We’re interested in the NHS. So we checked to see how it’s doing this week.
Our nearest hospital is the John Radcliffe. Here, just over one in four patients is waiting over four hours in A&E. Just under 75 per cent of patients are seen within four hours. The national target is 95 per cent, and this was what used to happen before 2010 – in the good old days.
Say what you like about Labour, at least they looked after the NHS.
Now it’s being broken up so the bits can be sold off to corporations from all over the world. This is required by law. The Health and Social Care Act requires it.
Today’s letters
Andrew Lansley’s law is now recognised by ‘senior cabinet members’ as the Tory party’s greatest mistake. In spite of beginning to see how awful it is they have not said they will repeal it.
Labour will. If you love the NHS, you know what to do in May.
