SACRIFICES were made to the sun god at the Tree Hotel in Iffley on Saturday to mark the Punjabi festival of Lohri.
The Lohri festival is traditionally celebrated to mark the sugarcane harvest and sacrifices of peanuts and popcorn are made to a fire to thank the sun god for a prosperous harvest.
Owner of the Tree Hotel Kavita Pal, who organised the event last Saturday said: “It was absolutely fantastic.
“We had a number of fires where guests could make sacrifices, music and enjoy Punjabi food.
