A VOLUNTARY group has taken to the streets to clean up Bicester’s countryside.
Bicester Green Gym is urging people to make New Year’s resolutions to include less littering after clearing nearly 50 black bags of rubbish from Jarvis Lane.
Group volunteer Bea Foster said: “Countless drinks cans and bottles scattered densely, it was a shocking and humiliating sight revealing that 21st century middle England can have such litter louts.
“It must surely be a good New Year's resolution to keep our countryside and shared amenities free from rubbish and to act responsibly and with consideration.”
The group, based in Bure Park, cleared 19 black bags of cans, 17 of glass bottles, two of plastic bottles and 10 of general refuse.
