OXFORD The Town Hall is to be improved over five years to increase the income it brings to city coffers, Oxford City Council has said.
The authority is investing £285,000 into the historic St Aldate’s building, pictured.
Of that amount, £180,000 would be spent on improvements to the main hall’s sound and lighting, with the rest spent on redecoration and other smaller projects, spokesman Chofamba Sithole said.
It is hoped that the upgrades will generate more bookings for its facilities, which currently bring in about £500,000 per year.
