Sixty people were arrested in December for drink-driving in Oxfordshire, down 10 from the same period in 2013.
From December 1 to New Year’s Day Thames Valley Police stopped drivers as part of the force’s ‘Is it worth the risk?’ campaign.
It was aimed at stopping people driving under the influence of drink or drugs over the festive period.
Out of the 60 arrested, 35 people were charged, 12 released on police bail and 13 had no further action taken against them.
Chief Inspector Henry Parsons said: “Drink-driving affects many people every day, whether through causing death or serious injury, or offenders living with the consequences of criminal justice.
“Whilst the Christmas campaign may have finished, we remain focussed on tackling drink-drivers every single day of the year.”
