A MAN is appealing for his stolen mobile phone to be returned as it contains the last pictures of his dead sister.
The phone was stolen from the 51-year-old while he was shopping at the self-service tills at ASDA in Wheatley on Tuesday, December 23 at about 4pm, police said.
Just an hour after the theft, the victim’s sister, who had motor neurone disease, died.
Police want to speak to the woman in the CCTV image.
Pc Wayne Griffin said: “The victim’s sister had motor neurone disease and died about an hour after the theft.
“The victim is anxious for the mobile to be recovered because there were a number of photos of his sister, as well as some messages from her, which were saved on the device.
“I would specifically appeal to the woman in the CCTV image to contact police, as we believe she may vital information that could help our investigation.
“Further, if anyone recognises the woman then please come forward. Your information may result in the victim being reunited with precious memories of his late sister.”
Those with information should call police on 101.
