A FAMILY of five is facing the next few months in temporary accommodation after their house near Didcot caught alight.
Fire crews were called to the home of the Lamb family in Main Road, Appleford, after the blaze started in the roof at about 5.30pm on Tuesday.
About 30 firefighters from Abingdon, Didcot, Wantage and Wallingford, tackled the fire which left significant damage to the roof and the second floor.
Yesterday morning after firefighters left, Mr and Mrs Lamb returned home to assess the damage.
They live at the house with their daughter Grace, nine, and four-year-old quads Layla, Ellen, Rose and Eric.
A spokeswoman for Oxfordshire Fire Service said firefighters were alerted at 5.32pm and arrived at 5.44pm.
They left after 9pm and then returned this morning to carry out further checks.
A spokesman added: “The cause of the fire is being investigated but no cause has yet been given by fire investigators.”
