NOW that Christmas is over it is time to get rid of trees that are starting to shed pine needles all over the floor.
Oxford City Council has set up 17 collection points across Oxford where real Christmas trees can be put through wood chippers.
The woodchips will then be used by the council in the city’s parks and open spaces to top flower beds, or they will be sent for composting.
Dropping off her trees at the Alexandra Tennis Courts in Middle Way, Summertown, was Erin Bannister Townsend.

The artist said: “I’m recycling lots of trees which were used at my daughter’s wedding shortly before Christmas at Exeter College.
“One was donated to the charity Emmaus for a Christmas tree auction and the rest we enjoyed for Christmas at our home.”
The council hopes to get nearly 3,000 trees recycled, topping last year’s number of 2,906 trees.
Trees can be dropped off until January 10 at sites including Blackbird Leys, Cowley and Littlemore.
