TINS, packets and presents of all shapes and sizes were donated to Carterton Community Food Bank at Christmas.
The food bank was set up last year by Mayor Lynn Little, who said the response so far from the community had been fantastic.
She said among those donating food and goods were the RAF, residents of Carterton, as well as local churches and schools.
Mrs Little added that this year the food bank had helped provide essentials – along with presents for children – for a total of 12 families. She said: “It has been marvellous to see how much support we have in Carterton for this community food bank.”
The food bank is run from the pavilion on the Alvescot Road Recreation Ground, in Carterton, and is open on Mondays between 1pm and 2pm, as well as on Thursdays from 10am to 11am.
But organisers said that all donations of food can be left at the town hall.
Mrs Little said she can be reached 24 hours a day on 07790 451567.
