TRAFFIC has returned to normal on the London Road, Headington, after delays earlier today.

Commuters faced delays on a stretch of the road where roadworks are taking place.

Two sets of works are under way on the road after work on phase one was delayed.

Resurfacing and road widening work from Thornhill Park and Ride to Green Road roundabout has been delayed after underground cables had to be relocated.

Phase two of the  scheme began today, which will see the road resurfaced from the junction with Wharton Road to the junction with Northfield Road.

Traffic is currently heavy between Thornhill Park and Ride and the Green Road roundabout in the area where phase one of works is still being carried out.
