TRAIN lovers jumped aboard steam locomotives as they enjoyed the first day of the new year.
Families climbed aboard at Didcot Railway Station for its first Steam Day of 2015.
Visitors had the chance to ride along the centre’s two demonstration lines and make friends with Thomas the Tank Engine.
Steve Mayor treated son James to a trip to the Didcot centre to celebrate his fifth birthday.
The 40-year-old financial adviser from Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham, said: “Because it was New Year’s Day, there were a lot of places that weren’t open.
“My lad loves steam trains so that was the reason we went. It was very very good. We were pleasantly surprised it was not as busy as we thought it would be.”
