Sir – With the ‘development’ of the new intersection at Worcester Street/Hythe Bridge Street the path for cyclists to go directly through to George Street from West Oxford has been blocked.

This is the opposite of what a cycle-friendly city should be doing. Cycle networks are required across the city but this new crossroads has seriously affected that.

I suggest either a turning lay-by be painted on the road for cyclists planning to go straight up George street, or for a 15-second advanced green light for cyclists only, to allow them to safely traverse this important intersection.
