THE boiler room in the Jam Factory has gained some warmth this winter from artist Petra Lea’s painting and collage exhibition.
Dick Was Now Mayor and Phoebe Wished Him Well is on display until next Wednesday and mainly features abstract works by the Cheshire artist.
Restaurant supervisor Sian Ford said: “Artists from all over Oxford can come to the Jam Factory and have their paintings put on the walls.
“We try to rotate it regularly to get some fresh new looks.
Our top stories
“We are showing this exhibition in the boiler room. I really like it because it has colourful and vibrant paintings and collages with lots of different features to it.
“A lot of people have been coming in asking about Petra Lea and people wanted to find out more about her and her work.
“We have had a few offers for some of the pictures so it is proving very popular.”
The artist said that the exhibition “focuses on the inability of communication to visualise reality” and “aims to draw the viewer into a world where they can better create their own connections and stories”.
It also features surrealism and humour.
