TWO lanes were closed on the M40 following a vehicle fire and diesel spill.
The fire broke out in the vehcile, believed to be an HGV, at about 10.30am while on the northbound carriageway between junction 11 near Banbury at junction 12 at Gaydon, Warwickshire.
Two fire engines from Banbury attended the incident and put the fire out before leaving the scene at about 11.15am.
A spokesman for the Highways Agency said: "There wass a diesel spillage from what has happened and that is what was keeping the carriageway closed."
The Highways Agency said all lanes had reopened by 1pm.
