ROWERS took part in a gruelling 12-hour fundraiser to support the county’s sick youngsters this week.
Staff and leisure members at The Oxford Belfry Hotel, in Milton Common, took part in a sponsored rowathon for Helen and Douglas House. More than £150 was raised by the team of about 50 rowers on Wednesday.
Leisure supervisor Paul Guest was one of the hotel employees who took to the rowing machine.
He said: “It was good. I know it’s important to raise money to help charities do the stuff they do.”

Mr Guest said he took to the rowing machine three times, clocking up a total of one hour’s rowing time during the fundraiser.
The rowathon was part of a national challenge among hotel group Q Hotels and its leisure clubs. More than 40 people participated in the rowathon at the Thame hotel.
East Oxford’s Helen and Douglas House provides hospice and palliative care to children and young people in the county and surrounding areas.
