HUNDREDS of people will thunder through the streets of Oxford on Sunday in this year’s Oxford Half Marathon.
Runners will set off from the Kassam Stadium, Littlemore, from 9.30am, and run in a circle along Grenoble Road, up Watlington Road to the A34.
They will then head south along the bypass, run up the whole length of Iffley Road to the Plain roundabout, then run back to Littlemore along the Thames towpath via Iffley Lock.
This year’s 13.1 mile race has adopted The Alzheimer’s Society as its main charity, though many runners are raising cash for other causes.
Along the route, six music acts will entertain runners in a Battle of the Bands contest to inspire runners and entertain spectators.
Runners will vote at the end of the race for the band they found most inspiring, with a £500 cash prize.
