Sir – I would like to please take the opportunity to thank all those people who kindly assisted me, when my wife had a fit, just outside the indoor market, off Market Street, Oxford, on Tuesday last week.

As I am sure your readers will understand, the whole thing was rather alarming, but without the kindness of the person who called the ambulance, the two doctors who offered their help and support, the lady who kindly collected my camera and bags and kept them safe for us, to the medical crews who were fast, efficient and calming, the whole thing would have been a lot worse.

I was sorry not to have been in a position to be able to properly thank them all at the time, and we just hope that through your paper, some thanks will be delivered. My wife is feeling a lot better, but with further tests etc to be done, there would appear to be quite a long road to travel yet.

Once again, thank you to all the kind people in Oxford, and to the person who removed the fishing rods from our boat during this time. I can only trust that they prove to be useful to you.

Robert Pinney, Somerset
