Sir – Driving towards Oxford on the A40, the sight of the hedge on the left between the Eynsham roundabout and the Cassington traffic lights is heart-breaking. Whoever is responsible for this ‘slash and burn’ approach to cutting back this vegetation should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. As my friend commented ‘You can hear the trees screaming’.
