Two robbery suspects have been rebailed for a date more than 19 months after a bungled raid on a jewellers that left a man dead.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Rhianne Pope said the men, both in their 30s and who were arrested on suspicion of robbery, have been rebailed until November 21.

It is in connection with the attempted robbery of John Gowing Jewellers in the Covered Market on March 30 last year.

A further suspected robber, 33-year-old Clint Townsend of Headington, died at the John Radcliffe Hospital on April 1 last year, after he was tackled to the ground by several witnesses and suffered a heart attack.

His death was ruled as misadventure by coroner Alison Thompson.
