CHILDREN and their parents turned out for a day of fun and activities to celebrate the 40th birthday of a Carterton pre-school.
Bright Start Pre-School put on the event in Brownes Hall, and mum-of-two Adrienne Black, 42, went along with her children Harrison and Nancy.
They both previously went there before going on to primary school.
Harrison, five, said: “I liked it when when we did musical statues and also when we had chocolate.
“I like chocolate.”

And four-year-old Nancy said: “The best thing was getting my face painted really nice. I used to really like going to Bright Start.”
Mrs Black added: “The kids both go to Edith Moorehouse (Primary School) now but we were there for most of the day.
“It was brilliant, Bright Start is like a big family.“ Saturday’s event saw children enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting, disco, party games, barbecue and cakes, among other treats.
