ROMANS walked again at Oxford’s Cheney School as it became home to the Festival of Ancient Tales.
As well as pupils dressed up as classical Romans, the school was visited by authors and poets including Caroline Lawrence, Adele Geras, Tom Holland and Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.
The day was arranged to celebrate the first birthday of the East Oxford Community Classics Centre, which helps children learn about classical civilisations.
Sixth former Frazer Hartley-Morgan joined in by becoming a Roman centurion, helping the 300 visitors find their way around during the event on Friday.
