RUNNING a half-marathon would test many people but one woman wants to break a world record by completing the distance on a space hopper.
Witney resident Jenni Davies has already completed half-marathons by running and riding a small child’s bike, but now she hopes to hold a Guinness World Record.
The 25-year-old, who failed to complete the distance in an earlier attempt, has so far raised £2,000 towards a new adventure playground in Clanfield, West Oxfordshire.
She said: “It would be quite hilarious to get a world record in space hopping. I never thought I would be able to say that.

“I wanted to try to do something quite interesting and inspire people to donate, while I also like a challenge.
“It’s one of the toughest things I’ve ever done physically, and it gives you proper thigh burn.”
Miss Davies is a volunteer at Adventure Plus, a Christian charity that provides outdoor activities for young people.
It is currently based in Witney but wants to build a new £2m Adventure Base at Windmill Farm Conference Centre in Clanfield. It will include climbing walls, an assault course, man-made lake, free running park, zip wire, biking course and water activities.
Miss Davies, a mental health nurse for young people, originally set herself a challenge to complete three half-marathons in three months, using three different modes of transport.
In May, she completed the off-road Adventure Plus Home Run from Witney to Clanfield in two hours.
And in June she did a half- marathon on a child’s bike in three-and-a-half hours.
She was hoping for a three- month hat-trick by doing a third half-marathon in July on a space hopper, but had to stop after doing 5.85 miles in six hours when it burst.
According to Guinness World Records, Ashrita Furhman set the official record by covering five miles in 24 hours on a space hopper in New York on December 17 last year.
This time Miss Davies will complete it in the grounds of the adventure park and hopes to get it verified by Guinness judges.
