FLORIST Rosa Ashby helped to paint Witney pink for the town’s annual breast cancer fundraiser on Saturday.
The Welsey Walk florist sold pink roses to raise money for Against Breast Cancer while more than 1,000 pink balloons decorated the town.
The Witney in Pink Day – in its 13th year – raised more than £4,000 for the Abingdon-based research charity.
The day involves shops and homes decorated in pink – the colour of breast cancer campaigners – and supporters collecting cash from shoppers.
Mrs Ashby, who raised £725 at Rosa Flowers, said the day had started out cold and wet but added: “It did not dampen the spirit. Everyone was still enthusiastic about it. I had a little look around and it looked very nice with all the pink balloons.”
Organiser Jeanne Chattoe last night said £4,433 had been raised.
