MEET Witney’s latest band – The Chain Gang.
Five current and former town mayors came together to help launch the new Reejai community arts project yesterday, pushing a giant confetti detonator at the Rock Barn in Witney’s Market Place.
They then got on stage to try out instruments later used in a ‘silent gig’, where crowds listened to live rock performances through headphones.
Chrissie Curry, who served as mayor from 2006 to 2008, said: “Let’s just be thankful that any notes we played were in a silent gig.
“We’ve decided to form our own group, The Chain Gang, available for silent gig bookings everywhere.”
