POLICE are carrying out night time patrols on foot and with unmarked cars after a series of burglaries in estates east of Oxford.
Thames Valley Police said yesterday there were nine burglaries in Barton, Sandhills and Risinghurst in the two weeks between Monday, September 15, and Sunday, September 28.
In a police alert sent yesterday, community messaging co-ordinator Michelle Beahan said: “The police are patrolling the area at all times during the day and night, the patrols are being carried out on foot as well as in marked and unmarked vehicles.
“The neighbourhood team ask that you take extra precautions at this time, and double check that your home is secure when you go out or when you retire for the night. “ The force said the burglaries had happened during the day as well as at night.
Homes in Green Ridges were raided on September 15 and 24, North Way overnight on September 15, Ilsley Road on September 16, Green Road and Bayswater Farm Road on September 20, Forest Road between September 20 and 22, and Downside overnight on September 26 and again overnight on September 28.
