More youngsters across the county are staying in school, according to new figures.
Details released by the Department for Education showed the number of Oxfordshire’s young people in education was higher than the national average.
Data for June showed 89 per cent of 16 to 17-year-olds, out of 11,890, were in full-time education, employment or training compared with 88.8 per cent in England.
The news was welcomed by John Howson of Oxfordshire County Council’s education scrutiny committee, but he said there was still room for improvement.
