I READ with interest Wantage MP and Communications Minister Ed Vaizey’s article (October 2) entitled “Investing wisely in future of our county’s communications”.
He misses many points. In spite of many, many emails to his colleague Nicola Blackwood MP, trying to explain that the BT solution of fibre to the BT cabinet is a legacy solution, and an assurance Ms Blackwood has sent my communications on to Ed, they fail to comprehend what they are doing.
Excellent that Ed’s article was below a picture of David Cameron switching on Gigaclear’s Ultrafast Broadband in Northmoor. Ed is promoting the BT ill conceived tax-payer funded solution which is termed “Superfast”.
We in Appleton, at no cost to the public purse, have had Gigaclear’s Ultrafast solution for two years. Fibre to the property means we have guaranteed 10Mbs upload and download with bursts to a Gigabyte – my speeds today are 650Mbps download and 820Mbps upload.
Oh yes… there must be a General Election soon? Expect more of the same.
