RAILWAY police are looking for volunteers to help patrol the network around Oxford.
British Transport Police is looking for special constables to accompany its police officers based at the city’s railway station.
The unpaid volunteers have to be aged between 18 and 57 and spare at least 16 hours a month.
The force says special constables get the same powers and uniform as regular officers and will take part in patrols, respond to emergencies and police large events.

Special Constabulary chief officer Ben Clifford said: “In return for your time, we will offer you a policing role in a supportive team with regular training and support sessions, as well as the chance to develop and progress within our special constable rank structure.
“Being a special constable enhances your CV, gives you a unique insight into the police force, and allows you to gain new skills and experience.
“It’s a busy and challenging role, but you will make a real difference to your community.”
The deadline for the current round of applications is midday on Monday, October 13, and training could start in January.
