YOUNGSTERS are being encouraged to get on their bikes and learn cycling safety.
The Bikeability sessions, to be held on October 27 in Florence Park, near Cowley Road, will teach children aged five to eight how to get on and off their bikes, stop and start, use their brakes and perform basic safety manoeuvres.
Sessions will be run by a qualified trainer and are aimed at children who can already ride without stabilisers.
Five-year-old Eben Davies, from Florence Park Road, is signed up to take part.
He said: “I absolutely love cycling, I go to school on my bike. I am looking forward to it.”
Mum Tamaryn Abbott said: “It is a nice environment to learn in the park.”
Friends of Florence Park have organised the sessions, which will run from 10.30am to noon and from 12.20pm to 2pm.
