The stone façade of Osney Bridge in Botley Road is being repaired at a councillor’s request.
Oxford City Councillor for the area Susanna Pressel asked bridge authority Oxfordshire County Council to commission the work after residents commented.
She said: “People who live near the bridge have been concerned to see how the façade has been eroding over the years, so we’re pleased the council is now re-facing it with new stone.
The work began last week.
