A UNIVERSITY building has scooped a national architectural award.
Oxford Brookes University’s John Henry Brookes Building and architectural firm, Design Engine, won the Higher Education Over £5 Million Building title at September’s Retrofit Awards in London.
The award recognised the design, engineering, construction and creative re-use of the building.
Oxford Brookes’ director of estates and facilities management Sue Holmes said: “It’s fantastic that the John Henry Brookes Building and the achievements of Design Engine continue to receive such prestigious, national recognition.”

The £132m building opened at the university’s Headington campus in February, winning the Royal Institute of British Architecture South Regional Award and its National Award.
A free tour of the building takes place on Tuesday, October 22, between 6.15pm and 8pm.
