A MAN accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl told a jury he was “stupid” to send her sexually explicit messages.
Paul Saunders, of Horspath Road, Oxford, denies two counts of engaging in sexual activity with the girl between July 29 and December 20 last year.
He also denies possessing indecent photographs and two counts of causing or inciting child pornography, relating to the 14-year-old and another teenager.
Yesterday the 22-year-old gave evidence for the first time and was asked by prosecutor Sam Mainds why he sent the first complainant messages about sex using Blackberry messenger and Whatsapp.

Saunders said: “I was stupid and with (her) I just went out of control.
“I clearly b***sed up, there is nothing I can do about it.”
Mr Mainds suggested to him that he had tried to “groom” both girls and eventually had sex with one “over and over again”.
Saunders replied: “No definitely not.
“I did not do any of that.”
Earlier he was played recordings the prosecution alleges he left on the girl’s phone. Asked about them he said: “I don’t think that sounds like me.”
The Oxford Crown Court case continues.
