AN ESTATE agent who called for Oxfordshire businesses to reclaim the word Isis from the terrorist group has changed the name of his business.
Summertown businessman Rowan Waller now runs Wallers of Oxford, which was previously known as Isis Estate Agents until last Wednesday.
As reported in the Oxford Mail earlier this month Mr Waller said he wanted national newspapers to stop using the term Isis to refer to the jihadist group as it was harming businesses in Oxford.
The word Isis has been used in Oxford to describe the part of the River Thames which runs through the city north of Iffley Lock.

Last week Mr Waller decided a rebrand was the best option for his company.
He said: “I decided for the sake of my own sleep patterns I couldn’t risk waiting to see if it all blows over. I realised a couple of weeks ago that I could just see the news was likely to get worse and worse once the Scottish vote was out of the way.
“Like it or not Isis is going to be a name on people’s minds and lips for the wrong reason, and I think our sentimental name for the river will be a victim of that.”
