AN OXFORD parish councillor has been threatened with legal action after claiming that an lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender news website has its own “mafia”.
Julia Gasper, who stood in May’s European elections for the English Democrats, made the claim about PinkNews on her blog.
The former UKIP activist, who sits on Risinghurst and Sandhills parish council, has alleged that PinkNews has a “mafia” and that gay actor Rupert Everett has needed police protection after he was placed on its “hit list”.
PinkNews publisher Benjamin Cohen said: “While some may find Dr Gasper’s allegations amusing, they are incredibly serious. We have written to her solicitors to ask them to provide evidence of her claims. If they do not not we will consider taking legal action against her unjustified allegations.”

Dr Gasper said: “I don’t just stand by what I have said, I am proud of it, and I have morality on my side.”
She has claimed to have received death threats in 2012 after linking homosexuality and paedophilia.
