COMEDIENNE Jenny Eclair will headline a day of celebrating older people.
She will perform her show, Elcairious, at the Old Fire Station, George Street, at 7.30pm tomorrow night, following a day of free events at Oxford Town Hall.
Both events mark UK Older People’s Day today.
From 10am to 4pm at the town hall tomorrow, visitors will be invited to try taster sessions in samba, Ceroc dance, yoga, singing, and table tennis.
The free event is being organised by Oxford University research fellow Judith Holder, who wrote and produced BBC Two’s Grumpy Old Women.

“The aim of our festival is to celebrate some of the wonderful activities on offer in the Oxford area for people over 50.”
There will be an Internet café with advisors offering help with iPads, texting, Skype, Facebook, tweeting and other “computer nightmares”.
A portrait workshop for the young and old will also be held.
Ms Holder added: “Many older people are lonely and isolated and we hope to spread the word and encourage them to make the most of some of the wonderful organisations in our region designed to help them get the most out of life.
“Growing old can be liberating, and a time to do the things you really enjoy and whatever your age and mobility, there are activities which can help you get the most of out of life.”
