A teenager has been charged with groping and punching a woman who went on to raise more than £16,000 for sex crime victims.

Jeanne Marie Ryan posted a “no make-up selfie” of her injuries online after the incident at Plush nightclub in Park End Street, Oxford in March.

As of last night she had raised £16,798 for the Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre.

Abdulrahman Abdelsalam, of Watling Avenue in Edgware, Greater London, was yesterday charged with sexual assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with the nightclub assault.

The 19-year-old was released on bail to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 10.
