HEALTH care at a Kidlington immigration centre has been praised by inspectors.
The Care Quality Commission said The Practice at Campsfield House immigration removal centre met all seven standards at an inspection in August.
The centre, at Campsfield House Health Care Centre, opened in 1993 and takes up to 216 men whose cases have yet to be resolved.
A CQC inspection report published this month said detainees’ needs were assessed and accidents and incidents investigated at the Langford Lane centre.
It spoke to seven users and recorded comments such as “the healthcare is excellent”, and “the best I have received since I arrived in this country”.
They said staff worked hard to meet their needs and were “kind and supportive”.
The report said: “People also commented how helpful and friendly the workers were. Staff were knowledgeable about people’s health care needs.
“We saw there was good interaction between staff and people who used the service.”
The report followed a routine, unannounced inspection
