Bicester's 23 Pioneer Regiment will disband later this morning in front of the Duke of Gloucester.
The regimental flag will be ceremonially lowered for the last time and two symbolic axes handed over to severing Royal Logistic Corps soldiers at St David's Barracks at Graven Hill.
Their final parade will be watched by friends and families of the regiment.
Laura Aspinall, 30, lives with her husband WO2 Rob Aspinall in the base's married quarters in Ambrosden.
She said: "it is a sad day, but it's a really good way of celebrating an amazing regiment."
