The editor of Oxford University student newspaper the Oxford Student has been removed from her position after a row broke out over comments about rape in an article that she had written.
Amelia Hamer published the piece after Oxford Union president Ben Sullivan was accused of rape – but police dropped the case against him after six weeks.
The Oxford University Student Union released a statement on Wednesday which said: “The Board of Oxford Student Services Limited lost confidence in her because of her handling of an article published (briefly) on the Oxford Student website on June 29, 2014.”
Miss Hamer can appeal.
